Port A Kayak owners Steve Vincent and Dave Hughes have been fishing in the Port Aransas area for years. A few years ago, the hassle and cost of fishing from a bay boat gave way to the ecologically sound idea of fishing the Coastal Bend backwaters in a kayak. We enjoyed using kayaks for fishing so much that we thought others might as well, thus opening the doors of Port A Kayak in May 2006. Business has been brisk as the peace and simplicity of fishing from a kayak is catching on and the Port "A" area seems to be earning the name "Kayak Capital" of the Texas coast.
